Some news has come out regarding the Corvette SUV. Apparently the first year we would likely see the new vehicle would be in 2027... this is the first time I've heard a year said with any type of confidence. Secondly, they let us know that it will be built in a new platform, not a platform shared with any other vehicle. They also suggest that the EV will be a three motor affair. One motor up front and 2 to drive the rear wheels, giving it performance superior to the Z06. There are some other tidbits at the Motor Biscuit article which you can view here: 2027 Corvette SUV: New Details Emerge Also attached are additional concept images that you may or may not have seen previously.
People can't stop talking about the Corvette SUV. It's gotten a ton of attention and we still aren't sure if GM will produce it. But that doesn't stop people from talking about it. Hotcars.com put together a list of the 10 things they would like to see in the Corvette SUV and I do agree with 90% of the list. If you'd like to check out the full article, please click the following link: Chevy Corvette SUV 2025: The 10 Things We Can't Do Without My favorite thing on the list, obviously the powertrain.... Here is #9 on their list and it's the one I would want the most: A Supercharged V8 With Tire-Smoking Performance. What is your can't live without desire for the Corvette SUV? Some unfortunate news, if you choose to believe it comes from MuscleCarsandTrucks.com that the Corvette SUV isn't green-lit for production yet. The article goes on to say: "While it’s been hotly anticipated for over a year now, MC&T has come to learn that an oft-rumored Corvette SUV has not yet been green-lit for production. In other words, don’t expect one in the near future. But never say never. At present, GM is currently developing an electric Corvette sedan to sell alongside the C8 Corvette in Chevrolet showrooms, likely to compete with vehicles such as the Porsche Taycan. But no SUV with a cross-flag logo." Direct Link: THERE ISN'T GOING TO BE A CORVETTE SUV
Looks like Car and Driver has updated their website and included an official page for the Corvette SUV. There isn't a whole lot of new information there but it's nice to see another confirmation that this vehicle is on the way. (image source, caranddriver.com) Car & Driver's latest report adds a new twist to the ongoing saga of the rumored Corvette SUV. Previously, in November, the magazine claimed that Corvette would launch as a brand in 2025, introducing a four-door sedan and an SUV, both as all-electric Ultium-based vehicles. However, new rumors suggest that internal combustion engines (ICE) will power the SUV, using the Alpha Platform, which underpins GM's performance giants like the Cadillac CT4, CT5, and Chevrolet Camaro. The Alpha Platform, designed for rear-wheel-drive focused, driver-centric vehicles, has been around for 11 years, but its suitability remains as the CT4 Blackwing and CT5 Blackwing recently made Car & Driver's 10 Best list...
